Appendix B :

Some drives that required a jumper change when going from a
single drive to a two drive setup

Conner: Early drives of less than 220MB might require that a jumper
be added to the DSP jumper when a slave drive is added. This advice
     applies to the CP3104, CP3114,CP3184, CP3204F, CP30064,
CP30084, CP30104, CP30104H. All other Conner drives require no
jumper change to support a slave drive.

IDE Hard Drive Setup Notes

Maxtor: No jumper change required on any drive

Samsung: SHD-30XXX jumper required on DSP

Seagate: ST3290 requires jumper over pins 3 and 4

Western Digital: 20 - 40MB drives require a jumper between pins 5 and 6. Many WD drives are jumpered differently if they are the only drive on the cable than if they are the master drive. Be sure to change this jumper to master or inconsistence startup will result.
